Alexandra Starkey placed second in the poster competition of the Graduate Student Senate's 11th Annual Conference

Alexandra Starkey, a Ph.D. student under Dr. Leonor Leandro, attended the Graduate Student Senate's 11th Annual Conference this month and presented her research poster alongside 33 other graduate students from colleges across the university. Alexandra placed second in the poster competition for her presentation on her research exploring using essential oils as a bio-fungicide to protect soybean crops from fungal diseases like sudden death syndrome (SDS), caused by the fungus Fusarium virguliforme. The judges rated poster presentations on their visual impact, the content, and a six-minute presentation of the findings.

Congratulations, Alexandra!!
