Monica Pennewitt receives a travel award to attend the North Central Division of the American Phytopathological Society (APS) meeting and wins 1st place in the oral presentation competition!

Ph.D. Candidate Monica Pennewitt, a member of Dr. Greg Tylka’s nematology lab, recently attended the North Central Division meeting of the American Phytopathological Society (APS) held at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She received a travel award to attend the meeting and presented some of her research in the oral presentation competition, where she won 1st place! She was also a member of the winning team for the “Flash & Dash” Extension competition, where each team received three presentation slides of a disease and was given 24 hours to put together an extension presentation. Congratulations Monica, way to represent Iowa State PPEM!
