Aline is an Agronomist and a Ph.D. Candidate in Plant Pathology with a minor in Genetics & Genomics under Dr. Steven Whitham. Her research projects focus on understanding the molecular functions of candidate effectors produced by the soybean rust fungus (Phakopsora pachyrhizi), aiming to gain better insight into the molecular basis of the interactions of soybean and soybean rust to potentially develop novel strategies to produce disease-resistant plants.
