Position
  • Postdoc Research Associate
I am a Plant Pathologist specializing in molecular plant-nematode interactions. Currently, I am a postdoc in Prof. Thomas Baum’s lab at Iowa State University, conducting research on "Investigating Cyst Nematode Effector Functions Using Gene Silencing and Protein-Protein Interaction Studies in Soybean and Arabidopsis."
I pursued my Ph.D. degree at the National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (formerly NRCPB) in India, focusing on plant-parasitic nematode pathogenesis, where I identified and characterized nematode-responsive root-specific promoters in Arabidopsis thaliana, resulting in two patents.
Previously, I worked as a Visiting Scientist with Prof. Sigal Barum Miyara at the Agricultural Research Organization in Israel, concentrating on imparting resistance to root-knot nematodes in tomato plants by manipulating SlWRKY transcription factors.
