Jose is an Agronomist with a B.Sc. and Licentiateship degree from University of Costa Rica, with an emphasis on plant pathology, IPM, organic farming, biological control, and business management.
He worked as project coordinator and lab manager at Gleason Lab, tracking the progress of research projects, developing outreach products, assisting with research both in the field and lab, and procuring an appropriate lab workspace from 2020 through 2022.
Starting in 2023 he joined Dr. Daren Mueller's lab, where he is the lab manager and field research technician.
He likes doing research, interacting with academia and stakeholders, and collaborating on projects that help to improve more sustainable agricultural systems.
